A little history, a little artistry, and a whole lot of character.
Some treasures aren't found in nature. They're created over time, layer by layer, each one telling a story of its own.
This one-of-a-kind Fordite necklace features a striking piece of automotive paint history, with beautiful ribbons of red, yellow, black, white, and gray swirling together in an almost topographical pattern.
Often called Detroit Agate, Fordite is formed from layers of automotive paint that accumulated during the vehicle painting process decades ago. Over time, these colorful layers hardened, creating a remarkable material that can be cut and polished to reveal its hidden patterns.
I've set this elongated, beautifully patterned piece in a handcrafted sterling silver setting, embracing its unusual shape with an organic, rustic design. The textured silver and small decorative details give the pendant an aged, almost industrial character, while the black cord allows the colorful Fordite to take center stage.
The result is a necklace that's a little unexpected, wonderfully imperfect, and full of personality.
